What results mean
A result describes only events recorded during the current session under its selected mode and thresholds. Labels such as anomaly, opposite-direction signal, jitter candidate, mixed input, long gap, or repeat candidate describe a visible event pattern. They do not identify an encoder condition, contamination, wear, firmware defect, radio fault, or any other physical cause.
A session with no obvious candidate does not certify that a device is healthy. A session with candidates does not certify that it is damaged. Missing actions may leave no browser event to analyze, and intermittent behavior may not occur during the run.
Factors outside the page
Results can change with the browser, operating system, driver, device type, firmware, connection, application mapping, zoom, modifier keys, focus, system load, user motion, natural-scrolling setting, and `deltaMode`. Mouse wheels, touchpads, trackballs, accessibility devices, remote sessions, and software-generated input may reach the same interface.
Wheel events per second is not hardware polling rate. Raw delta is not physical distance or a guaranteed notch count. Estimated display units are heuristics. Cross-device comparisons without controlling these factors can be misleading.
Cleaning and repair
Disconnect power before external cleaning and follow the device manufacturer’s instructions. Do not spray liquid into a powered device, apply general-purpose lubricants such as WD-40, use a hair dryer, or disassemble equipment when doing so could be unsafe or affect warranty coverage. Internal work should be handled through the manufacturer or a qualified technician.
You remain responsible for changes to system settings, software, cleaning, disassembly, and repair. To the extent permitted by law, the site is not responsible for damage caused by improper handling or reliance on a browser result as a repair instruction.
